I am looking for some advice with my Audi A5 Coupe (2008) - the other night I was driving home when the engine completely cut out on me and the car came to a sudden stop - there was a slight burning smell and I was unable to restart the engine and had to push her to a safe place. I called out a mobile mechanic who diagnosed that there was a fault with my starting motor and cam sensor. We ordered a new starter motor and my car got towed to a mechanic who when taking out the old starter motor the Dual-mass Flywheel would only turn a small amount - the mechanic told me that the flywheel was preventing the engine from turning over and recommended that I need to replace the flywheel? Can anyone advise if you have had the same or similar happen to you and if so how was it fixed - we checked the wiring it was okay!
