Default 01 A6 2.7T, Did the 605 servotronic relay removal, something weird happened

So after reading about the 605 mod where one removes the relay under the drivers side dash to firm up the steering wheel feel I decided to give it a try. I liked it! It still wasn't as heavy as a bmw 328i that i drove recently, but nice and firm, much better than before imho.

But....

Two days later, the steering feel is back to what it was before?? The relay is still on my workbench, so it didn't find it's way back home, and no I haven't been going to the gym, enough anyway. Anyone else have this happen? Comments? Suggestions? Posted on Audi World too, got nuttin.

Thanks,
Gary

Did you test it using the same driving conditions? Have to start somewhere.

Didn't have to, I mean, it went from one finger steering (anytime) to having to have both hands on the wheel to muscle it out of the drive way, back to one finger steering. I might try installing the relay again, driving for awhile, then yanking it out again, or install a switch....
