'01 A6 brakes?
Ok, so on my '01 A6 the brakes worked great before winter. Then last winter everytime I came to a stop, the ABS kicked in. I attributed this to slippery roads, however the snow/ice is gone and the ABS kicking in while slowing down and coming to slow speed stops hasn't.
When I coming to slow stops from 30ish mph, the ABS kicks in. It sounds like it is from the front ABS. I read that the speed sensors may be dirty, so last weekend I pulled the front wheels off, pulled out the sensors and wiped them off.
NOW the ABS issue is as bad, if not worse than before... But it only lasts 2-4 times before the ABS light comes on, and the brakes work great... Without ABS.
I don't mind not having ABS in the summer, but the fact that it kicks in and I almost have collisions at stop lights bothers me. And I would prefer everything to work as it should.
I have a VAG-com, but my laptop has been on the fritz so I have yet to hook it up.
Any thought? Suggestions? Tricks?
I'm worried it's something pricey and I'm trying to budget my TB/water pump replacement now (96,xxx miles).
Thanks!

When the ABS module failed on my wife's 1999 A6, the light stayed on all of the time. That doesn't sound like what you have, but it did happen at about the same mileage. I was able to remove the module and send it in to be rebuilt, and the car was still driveable in the mean time. However, if that doesn't fix it, you'll be out about ninety bucks.
