hi,i have a 99 a6 with the 2.8 engine, which came with 205 55 16 tires and rims, now a friend of mine is trading in his 2003 a6 wagon he has the 3.0 engine so he asked if i wanted his factory rims which are 17's and on those rims are 235 45 17 tires,so i was wondering if i will have any issues with those tires since there so much wider than mine?like will it slow my car down even more since the rims and tires are heavier and such?

they should fit fine. The fenders dont flare until you get to the 4.2 and put on the 245's. As far as the weight you shouldnt feel a difference since the 2.8 isnt a rocket off the line with 207 hp. Will make the 99 look newer. sounds like a good deal. Good Luck!

u won't notice a thing cuz i have 17in S4 rims 235-45-17 on my A6, up from the stock 16's. there's no problem with rubbing or brake clearances. plus my car is lowered..still no rubbing.
i'm even thinkin of jumpin up to 18's...possibly 19's.
