18" wheels with spacers? HELP!

Hi everyone.
I'm looking at getting a set of 18" wheels for my 2001 A6 2.7t and it looks like i'll need 20mm spacers to clear the brakes. Are these spacers safe or should i avoid putting them on the car. Any info or recommendations are appreciated. also, how much would these spacers cost me? Thanks.

I think there are quite a few Audi owners that run spacers, but it would depend on how thick they are to say if they are unsafe. What size are they?

Hey Man, I have a 2000 A6 2.7T. I bought some universial spacers from ebay and was told that I could use stock lug bolts. WRONG! Front wheel came off and messed up my fender and alignment. I found a spacer made by EIBACH thats custom fitted for the A6 and comes with extra long lug bolts. They come in sizes from 5mm up to the 20 and 30 mm size you need. I got them for about $72 a set. You can go to the EIBACH website and find out where to order them. The universal spacers don't stay put. If all the bolts aren't equally tight at the same depth, the wheel will work itself lose and come off. Stay away from those universial spacers.

20mm -> ALOT!!! Exit ramp and your out...my friend had 18mm spacers on a4 and that was bad choice.....i'm running spacers too but its only like 7-10mm on longer aftermarket bolts, get them made at some mashine shop exact for your set up.good luck.

Well, check any wheel shop, all you need is 35mm offset on the rims, Just tell them that, try to do it locally so you wont have problems with fitment.
