1992 Audi 100 5MT CV axle
Hope this location is OK for my model; doesn't seem to be a dedicated 100 spot.
I'm going to try replacing the axle (damaged outer boot) with a reman. probably CVJ, Denver. Does the short removal process work on this model, i.e., unbolt inner end, withdraw, manoeuver or drive outer end from hub, no disconnection of other suspension components needed?
Presumably you have to drain some trans oil first.
anybody sure if triple square needed is 8mm or 10mm?
thanks for any advice!

A damaged outer boot would require replacing the boot=>unless the cv joint is damaged - do not replace it;
Clean and lubricate.
Make sure you have the wrench for the shaft bolt - 17 alen ot 28? socket- what tipe are yours?
Which side ?
If the shaft does not get off - opening lower ball joint will provide the space.
Be careful not to damage the rubber on other components.
There is a c-clip on the shaft that might need a replacement.
For the size - I have to measure the bolts-bit at home; bolts might be alen
Any hardware store would carry bolts - (could be alen bolts) -$1 a piece ($10 at dealers)
Hammer every bolt before open.
