Default 1995 A6 Transmission Fluid

I have a 95 A6 Quattro - It has an automatic - I have changed the filter and cleaned the pan, now I need to refill it. What is the procedure? Do you check it hot or cold? In Drive or Park? I also really need to know what fluid audi suggests - is it Dextron III? Please help! Thanks.

No, do not use normal fluids that you would find at Napa or other auto parts stores. Most of the fluids that go into your car are special Audi fluids. I'm getting ready to do the same procedure and I came upon this link....I will probably buy their kit.

I forgot to add, you need to use Audi part no G 052 162 A2 ATF for your car.
