Default 1998 Audi A6

Hi there, I'm new here, I was offered a 1998 Audi A6 in good condition with around 80,000 miles by a audi mechanic, it is his mothers car who died, "hit by a drunk driver", so he wants to sell it for around $5000 to $6500, give or take a few $$$, he says this car is a "98 Audi A6 Quatrro Euro Spec. Gray Market Import out of Canada" which he says is rare, I'm trying to get info on that, can anybody give any production #s for the 1998 A6 Quatrro and can anyone ellaborate on this?

Thanks in advance!

No, she was driving a SUV when she was hit, this car is in great condition with no dents at all, it has never been in an accident, it is a Original Euro spec car, (Bought in Europe, and made for the European market) then imported to the US by way of Canada.

i just got my 97' 2.8l quattro for $3500 in minneapolis about 1 month ago. and i couldn't be happier. then again a turbo would be nice. just understand it isn't a matter of IF a turbo will die but WHEN. keep in mind that the turbo audis need a timing belt replace about every 60K.

well in 1998 no turbo was offered in the A6 for the US models. Maybe this 'euro spec' A6 has a 1.8t or something. Find out what motor is in it. If it is the 2.8 V6 then 80k miles is when the timing belt needs to be done so make sure you take that into account.

Yeah it has the 2.8L 5V, no turbo, andI beleive it has a chain instead of a belt.

Yes it is 5 Valves per cylnder + 30 Valves, and the engine in my Audi is using metal chains and gears, not belt driven, and this is stock.
