Okay, so, we've got fantastic Bose sound systems in our Audi's, and here I am using a tape adapter to listen to the music on my iPhone. Quality sucks and if it's not at the right level on the phone, it sounds distorted on the radio. So I thought of something neat that could MAYBE be implemented in our cars . I was thinking of using the "Credit card" slider tray (next to cup holder) as an iPhone/iPod dock. One day while tuning the radio, somehow (I have no idea how) I got it to say "Phone", so I thought there might be a line in for an optional phone feature?

What I'm thinking of doing is, installing a dock for my iPhone on that slide out tray and have a 12v charger cable connect to it and also a audio jack coming from the dock to the radio, it's all possible. The only thing worrying me is if my Concert radio has a method of adding another "line". I wouldn't want to replace any of the components (Tape, CD still work).

Do you guys know if there is a possibility of adding that additional line? I'd like to know beforehand before I start taking out the radio and touch the dash. =D

 

I have an in dash DVD player i installed in mine and it came with an ipod cord and i ran my cord into my armrest compartment were that phone is suppose to be it was a pain to get the wire ran there but its nice and hidden! i just control the ipod on the dvd screen.
