What kind of service has been done on it? Has the timing belt at least been changed?? If the previous owner/s kept up the maintenance then it will be a good car for you!

Its super clean was in illinois suburbs so im guessing it was taken care of really well. Unsure about the timing belt but i already called my mechanic and he said he would change it for about 500(parts and labor). I dont plan on beating on it, just using it for a daily driver from point a to point b.

$500 for parts and labor is a bit low -- I'd make sure it includes changing the water pump, tensioners, and seals when he is in there.

Great car! Enjoy it. $500 for a timing belt job with parts and labor is low. Even parts alone, including water pump, thermostat, tensioner, rollers, coolant and etc will run you close to that.

If the powertrain, CATConverters, and muffler(s) are in good shape, then it is a good price since the interior looks clean.

Good find.

Shwangin do a search on this forum and see what happens when people just change the TB. Believe me ---do the water pump, thermostat, tensioners and seals when it is apart.

Oh thats alright i beleive you gurus on this subject me being a noob on owning an audi. I know that is a lot of stuff to repair but i was just seeing if there was even the littlest thing besides what you guys named off. because i know i dont want to have to take that stuff apart again when i could just avoid anymore problems(by doing everything all at once) that would come up with the engine and components. There is only one real problem and i dont know if it is a problem, The brake light is on is this something i should be concerned about and how would i fix it so its not on?
