Default 2.7 timing belt

I'm currently in the process of replacing the timing belt and other rotating components at the front end.
Just 1 question in regards to the rad hoses, top and bottom. After pulling the clip back, does the hose connection twist and pull out
or does it just slide out?

Sorry, but the upper and lower rad hoses pull straight out. Just a light spray of WD40, slight tap with a blunt chisel from the opening
at front of the rad and it slid right out.

Also had a b***h of a time with the fan pulley. In the Audi World site, someone says to use chop sticks or something like that.
Easy way, install and allen key, about a 6-7mm, through the pulley hole into a small opening into the housing so the pulley
does not rotate, and use an adjustable on the nut. Remember, reverse threads!!!

I found it was easier to remove the bumper and "lock Carrier" than to swing it out of the way. Maybe on the Allroad, but not on
my A6 2.7.

im missing some thing here, the hoses push over and are clipped on when the clip is remove the hose is hard to pull off and twisting the hose loosens it up so it can be pulled off

The upper right hoses (drivers) and lower left (pass), I wasn't sure if they had to be turned left or right, then pulled out.
Sorry for the confusion.

hoses are not connected like that on the radiator, the radiator is a single unit with radiator feeds solid fitted, the hoses slot over

You dont need to remove the hoses or the whole lock carrier assembly

Just move to service position

It was probably not neccessary to remove the whole carrier, but it was sooo much easier, and it wasn't much more to remove....the upper and lower rad hoses, (drain it first)
the oil cooler lines and that's it. I did have a bit a trouble with the cooler lines. I had to give them a slight tap from the front of the rad through a small opening, the O ring is
very large for the opening.

After removing the carrier, I had to swing it to the right for the tranny cooler lines, but I was able to rest it on the floor without strain on the lines.
I have been told by some Audi tech's that the carrier does not have to be removed or loosened. I guess that's how they charge you for 8 hrs labor and
can be done in 2 hours.

Anyway, have it all back together, all in time without the cam tool. Feels like a new engine. response is great, and no leaks...thank God!!!

Next...brakes. New rotors and pads, and 1 outer boot.
