OK it all depends on what you are looking for. The 2.7 is more mod friendly and you can get some very good HP gains with turbos, piggies, and intercoolers.
The 4.2 is pretty fast stock. It has 300hp and 295 ft pound torque. The 4.2 also has the wide body, the huge wheel arches and the door flares9that all other Audi owners envy.
If you are interested in a 4.2 mine is for sale. I have had mine for just over 2 1/2years and it is truly a great car. Passing is not problem and off the line it is fast.
Check the link if interested I am sure others will chime in on this tpic.
Good luck with what ever model you choose.

4.2 - reliable and powerful in stock form; wide body looks; no mods
2.7t - turbo related reliability issues; mod friendly.

Unless you are into mods, and are able to save money by doing mechanical work yourself, I would get the 4.2.

I don't really plan on modding because I have an ls1 trans am that I mod, but knowing me I will do some minor mods. I have always loved audis and I am just looking for a fast daily driver.

This link works!
I see that you are frustrated, having tried tyo sell your A6 since December. I have tried to sell my 05 A4, with only 27K miles, since last August and I am still making payments on it. I guess it is a sign of the times...
Best of luck with the sale!

Thanks. The way it is going it will most likely still be for sale. If you could email me at passatcr@yahoo.com I can keep your email in my inbox and it will remind me to email you come late march or early April to let you know what is going on.
Thanks for the interest,
JOHN
