Well, im very new to audi and had one question.
For the automatic 2.7T trannys i notice that it shift very low in first no matter if you are in tiptronic mode or not. i tried to see if it would stay in 1st until 3k rpm but it seem to automatically shift at 2.5k in both D mode and Tiptronic Mode.
Is it common? if not how would i correct it to let me shift in higher rpm in 1st gear.

You will need to have the trans reflashed with a VAGcom. I think I'm using the 100032 code. Works really well.

 

most automatics never see first gear even though you might think it does but newer cars have sport mode to simulate that feeling but rarely does it go into 1st gear

 

so its not a problem with my transmission or anything? it just how the car was programed im assuming, like i full throttle it in 1st gear and it still shifts at 2000-2200rpm....so its just kinda weird i thought it would shift alot higher.

 

that's about right but if you want better then I agree it will need VAG to flash it, there is no problem with your tranny that how they work

It's totally normal, if you want it to hold 1st, you need to vag-com the trans to the 0032 code.

 

^^i plan on getting a vag com so which code is it 10032 or 00032? lol i;ll be asking alot more question because i also have to aim my xenon headlights with the vagcom. thanks for all the help

 

The code is 00032.

 

00032 or 01032.
Do you have paddle shifters?
if your stock tranny code starts with 01, then go to 01032.
If your stock code, starts with 00 go with 00032.

Our cars come programmede to auto shift to 2nd gear UNLESS you mash the gas pedal right away and stay on it,, then it should take 1st to redline.Recoding will hold 1st gear til red line whether you accelerate slowly or mash the gas pedal plus it changes the way the tranny shifts/hold gears overall. read up the various codes on AudiWorld, There are other options, including one that only changes the 1-2 shift.
