Is the 2.7t engine a nightmare?

Even the mid-model WRX? Not the STI. I just love the way Audi's look, it's the perfect mix of sport and luxury. Personally I think they are the best looking cars around. Maybe I'll just hunt around for a WRX, I do love that boxer sound, but I thought Audi's were close in performance to them with a little work.

You seam like a reasonable kid and coming here was a smart move .. some advice .. forget keeping up or hanging with anybody ... get a good reliable car you can aford to run .. concentrate on doing well at school and later the other guys will be trying to hang with you . Don't get messed up on your priorities ,, go buy a solid Honda or Toyota and enjoy your time at school

Your statement says it all... Audit is a "perfect mix of sport and LUXURY." I wouldn't use the word "Luxury" when describing a WRX.

240,000k miles c5 A6 2.7t
I found a decently priced Audi 2.7t with 65,000 on it and it's really sharp. I am going to work full time until next fall, at which point i'm off to college. I should have most of it paid off by then.
I am going to test drive the car today and I am wondering what problems I should look for on the car? I see that it's pretty common that the CV's go on all a6's and some other things. I can't have a lemon while i'm off at school. Do you guys have alot of problems with your 2.7s? I hear some horror stories and then I read some forums and alot of people say 135k and still going strong! and things like that.
What have your guys experiences been and would you say it's a good buy or not? I mean, this car is SHARP, its the nicest looking car i've seen in a while. I would love to have it but if it's unreliable i'm going to have to pass it up.

I have a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t Quattro 6-speed and it has over 240,000 miles still going strong. If you take care of it it will take care of you.
