2.7T Quattro wheel query. Help Please!
Hi,
Could anyone who has successfully fitted some aftermarket alloys to a 2000 model 2.7T Quattro (i.e. HP2 Calipers) please provide details of the alloys fitted. Basically need some idea of what options I have for alloys that will clear the calipers without needing spacers.
I would like to go back to 16" for speedo accuracy, but if not as long as spacers are not needed
Previous owner fitted Audi 18" x 8" (not sure of offset) with spacers and the result is vibration, vibration, vibration
I have spec's some Team Dynamics Monza (16" x 7" ET45), but no one can seem to say if they will clear the calipers.
Thanks in advance
Danny

Danny,
The wheels in my sig pic fit. You can also go to a number of car sites that have fitment info that will provide answers for you (e.g., www.tirerack.com).
You do NOT need to go with 16" wheels to maintain accurate speedometer readings. I run 16x7" winter wheels and 17x8" wheels with no problem. They key is to maintain the "plus concept." This just means that as you go up in wheel size, you need to go down in profile so that the outer diameter is maintained. Here's a link to a site that will help you figure out what your options are in this regard: Tire Size Calculator
Finally, here is a link to the wheels section of Stoney's Links: Stoney's Links Wheel Section. Here, you will find TONS of info on what will work with HP2 calipers.
Good luck.
