2000 A6 4.2 electronic choke problem??
Ok I have a 2000 A6 4.2 with about 125k miles on it. Runs great but within the last couple weeks it has started doing something strange when I start it in the morning. First start of the day (cold start) it revs to about 3 grand then drops right back down to almost stalling out (today it actually did stall out) but usually it seasaws back and forth like that for about 10 seconds then idles just fine and dandy. I wondered, not knowing much about cars, does a car with fuel injection even have an electronic choke? Anyone have this problem or have any ideas as to what I could try to remedy?
Thanks,
Lawrence

Your car is fuel injected so it doesnt have a traditional electronic choke. This could be a number of things including the coolant sensor or the idle/air control unit. Do you have a check engine light on? If so, tell us what the codes are and someone will be able to answer a lot better.
