Default 2000 A6 Avant. Low rpm miss? coil packs??

A couple days ago I got a pretty constant low rpm miss when under load, check engine light flashed but didn't stay on. (will it still keep the code? was less than 50 key cycles).
Yesterday under the same conditions, didn't happen once.
My mechanic thinks it could be the coil packs. I replaced the spark plugs maybe a month ago and got rid of a high rpm miss. Noticed that the valve cover gaskets need to be changed, having that done today.
THe check engine light has come on in the past but always for 'secondary air pump flow'.

had the valve cover gaskets replaced (got rid of that oil burn smell if it sits for a couple days). They pulled the codes.
intermittent cylinder miss on 1,2,3, and 6.
secondary air flow pump, intermittent
MAS air flow, intermittent

the check engine light just flashed, didn't stay on.

they did say that the hoses and such connecting the MAS air flow sensor needed replacing but I still get that low rpm miss under load.

Has anyone cured this by replacing the coil pack?

changed the coil pack out, 5 minute change, low rpm miss gone.

Does anyone know if the dealer is the only place you can get the screws for the skid plate?

Oh I hate those screws!!! I lost some on the wife's A4. I just went to autozone and picked up some nuts and bolts..
Yeah dealer got them. Never priced them out though

should have gone there....cost me close to $50 for most of the screws.

the low rpm miss still comes every now and then if the engine is warm.

I am having a similar issue. Random missfire, missfire on 2 and 4. I replaced plugs, wires, and coil pack but still am getting the missfire. My interior light flashes from time to time which leads me to believe its an ECU issue. Plz let me know if you figure it out. I will let you know if I do.

Secondary Air Injection code USUALLY is triggered by a vacuum leak. Check the lines to the combination valves.
