Default 2001 a6 2.7t upgrades?

So I've been saving some money up to start doing some performance upgrades on my tip-tronic a6 of 145000 miles, just got a new belt and has all stock parts in good condition. Where should I start!?! Exhaust...Turbos/intake...Transmission? I would love any guidance, THANKS!

The stickied thread, "tip and suggestions for the new 2.7t owner", has a ton of great advice. Chip is a great place to start (that is where I started)...from there I went intake, bi-pipes, and new Forge Diverter valves. I thought about doing exhaust (including downpipes or piggies), but this is a pretty large financial committment - and I am finding that the majority of money I was planning on putting into upgrades is going towards repairs (axle, brakes, leaking seals, timing belt, etc.).

Sorry guys, Im a n00b to this site!
Thanks for the guidance. I always heard you should chip it last, but I guess not. What would you guys recommend for a good chip? I would also like to be able to toggle between my chipped and stock settings, this is possible right?

KO4's and a transmission swap. That's what I'd do. You can chip it later - IF YOU THINK YOU NEED TO. haha Actually, look at the things that you know maintenance wise are going to set you back first, and do tasteful upgrades to those items. Suspension - you can get a system from Blauparts that takes care of pretty much everything, gives you a small decrease in ride height, and increases the front shock size to, uh, I think 50MM, which helps with these nose heavy cars. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone, I think.

RatherB1 - I think we have identical cars, and I think the door blades (and satin mirrors) would look SICK on our cars. Me first! lol.

If you are looking for PERFORMANCE upgrades, the best bang for the buck is chip + heavy duty diverter valves and throttle body boot. The weak link after that could be your tip, so make sure it is healthy. Read some threads, but a fresh fluid change could be a good idea. I will warn you that after I chipped, I had to replace my MT6 clutch after about 10k miles. That was over 100k miles ago, so it was also a good upgrade.
