2001 Audi A6 C5 2.7t REVERSE ISSUE PLEASE HELP!
Hi I have a 2001 audi a6 2.7t And The previous owner states he brought the car to a guy that didnt know what he was doing. at the time the reverse was just fine. Than he gets the car back Bam. No reverse he sold me the car for $900 and the reverse will go if im on a downhill or a flat surface It acts as if its in neutral I will have to rev the engine in reverse gear to 2000-3000 RPMS to get it rolling. sometimes when I do that Something does a little pop and it smokes not sure where it smokes from but it smells like tranny fluid. The reverse lights work and the gear lights up Im just not sure of what the issue is of why it will not reverse I need this issue Fixed before the winter. Please comment what you can to help me please and thanks I will post a Video to show what it does

Sad to say, but that slamming, lurching, and high reving have nothing do your engine. You tranny is pretty much on the dead door step.
If you want to take the first steps to trying to get the tranny operational, try a flush by yourself, change the filter. That will be the cheapest option, but I have a feeling a clutch pack or a valve is the issue and that translates into a full tranny rebuild or replacement.
If you see that the colour of the tranny fluid is black = bad. You can pretty much count the fact that the tranny is done for.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news., but there is a small chance the flush might make it happy enough to last another 6-12 months.
