My car has 79K on it and the ride feels really rough. I am guessing new struts would help. My mechanic who usually is pretty cheap told me it would be $984 to replace the front and rear struts, that the replacements were German and about $180 apeice. Are there any other brands out there anyone has used that cost less?

 

$150 for the labor is pretty cheap! $180 per shock/strut is... questionable

But, performance ones can be had for between $400-600 a set (2 shocks/2 struts)

 

any particular brand anyone can give and a link to any merchants?
