2002 A6 Quattro 3.0 Misfire Confusion??
Hey everyone, I have an interesting issue here. I bought the car knowing it had a misfire issue, and was hoping it was just going to be plugs and coils. I was getting a misfire on cylinders 1,2,3 which was also setting the random misfire code. With that being said, the car drives fine for the most part, only notice a few misfires here and there. (Also getting a very lean STFT2 reading, around +24%)
I was doing some more digging around under the hood and I started taking apart the air box and noticed there wasn't even a filter inside.. The secondary air pump hose was not connected to the air box housing either! I figured with out the filter, the MAF was just getting gunked up, so I replaced the whole air filter unit, ( had some cracks in it as well, replaced the MAF, and now it seems that I only have a misfire in cylinder 1 now.
Anyone have any suggestions? Im leaning towards changing the fuel filter, possibly the fuel injector. I changed the plugs and coils on bank 1, as well.
Thanks again everyone.
