I have 2003 Audi A6 3.0 , the interior lights doesn't come on at all , then the door open or closed. I cheked fuses and it's good, only red lights on a side of a door works and the foot lights works when you open a door. Somebody said what sometimes might be the short inside the seat? Does any body have any ideas how to fix this problem???

 

is there like a "master switch" (if you wanna call it that) that mayb accidently was hit into the off position. I no in my 99 A6 i have a switch near my Sun Roof control that lets me shut all the interior lights.

 

I did try that switch, but is not it...the interior lights still not working

 

hmmm seeing as you said all your fuses were good. Im thinking there might be a short somewhere along the cables sorry i dont know where its located tho[:'(]

 

I contact with separate wire from fuses to the lights by sun roof and then lights came on, but I still can't find where might be a short along the cables. Anybody had this problem ?

 

I'm having the same problem with my 1997 Avant. A short ishighly unlikely if the problem is with all doors and the switches are OK. I think my problem is in the interior light delay module, but don't know for sure yet!

 

It's a 3-position switch by the sun-roof control. One is off, one is on, and one is on when the doors open. I'm always mixing mine up.

 

Its either a door latch malfunctioning or there is a TSB for a wire shorting out behind the driver's side seat to ground. Take it to the dealer and have them check those wires, you would have to remove the back part of the seat on the driver's side to see the wires.

 

I would say it is the latch because I just changed mine on my 2000 a6 and the light does not come . Only comes on with the other three doors.. Its something I can live with lol.
