Default 2004 A6 3.0 common problems/issues

Looking to buy a used 2004 A6 3.0. Are there any design issues or common problems I should be checking for.

Also I noticed the braking felt soft compared to my BMW (i.e. the pedal had to be depressed further to get similar braking force).

Any help is appreciated.

Marty

Welcome to Audi Forums marty04A6!

Since you're new... check out the START HERE! (click this link) link to get a rundown of the lingo/vocab here at audiforums.

Then be sure to search the archives when you have a question. Chances are the question has been asked before (probably several times) and the archives will have plenty of information to answer your question. If you still need answers, please feel free to ask questions.

Don't feel intimidated; we are all a bunch of pretty cool guys (and gals). Feel free to post advice, comments, ideas, suggestions, and even pics.

The brakes should feel strong; I'd have them checked. No other issues that I know for that year and engine. Make sure Audi has your name and address for their TSB's. They are very good about notifying you if you need to come in for service or recall repairs.
