2004 S-line A6 engine power issue
Hi everyone,
My wife has a 2004 A6 S-line with 71000 miles. I don't drive the car that often but enjoy it when I do. Last night I used it to run into town and when I went to pass a car on the highway noticed the car felt like it was holding back/cutting back when the pedal was depressed farther than 1/2 way. Under full throttle it kicks the trans down 1-2 gears but there is no additional power to speak of. It has always run like a rocket in the past.
Off idle and part throttle are fine. Could this be a fuel filter issue? Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

do you have vagcom ... use vagscope and check to see if everything is running where it should be ... also check the MAF if you have a oilbased air filter(k&N etc)
cant thinkof anything else ... i doubt it would be the fuel filter even though if you havent replaced it yet do it soon because they are recommended for replacement around 75k
