Default 2005 A6 3.2Q Custom Wheels & Suspension Question

What's the best Rims/Tires size to go without compromising the smooth ride? the roads in NYC are not the best but mostly smooth.

I have the sports package now with 18" rims and245x40x18R tires everywhere I research I see the size for my car would be a 225x35x20's tires and 5x112 bolt pattern.

Is that the way to go? also I was thinking of dropping the car with H&R coil-over or springs alone.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as I don't want a ruff ride after doing this.

Thanks,
Tom

Anything larger than the 18s is going to give you a rough ride. Plus, accept the 3.2 for what it is, don't try to turn it into a sports car or a rice burner.

i'm running a 225/35/20 on my 99 a6, so i would say go with it. I live in Connecticut and the roads aren't that great a few potholes here and there but the rides is ok. I'm preety sure that ride will be much better considering your car is 6 years newer than mine.
