I call up my dealer from whom I purchased my wife's 2011 Q5, and tell him I'm interested in a 2008 A6 3.2. He sends me two HTTP links of in stock cars he has on the lot.

Both are S-Line, 3.2 Quattro
Blue: 31000 miles
White: 54000 miles

I set up a time for a test drive and took the Blue out first. This is my first time ever sitting in or driving an A6. I liked the drive and handling. But I was not impressed with the features and interior, no Nav, no Ipod, old looking MMI graphics etc. I had driven 528xi's recently and was about to leave and go for one of them.

I went ahead and got in the White model. I found a shocking discovery... this model had a completely different interior. It had Nav, Ipod, a MMI that looks like my wifes 2011 version with higher resolution graphics. The driver's seat felt sportier, like a racing bucket seat. It had dark wood inlays with black leather. I fell in love immediately. I bought it. The original in service date of this white model is Jan. 2009. The blue was mid year 2008.

Was there a mid year facelift? I felt like I hit the lottery finding this white model with all the features and comfort I was looking for.
