looked at a 2012 A6 today. I have a question about the headlights and running lights.

The 2012 has the LED running lights and headlights. Correct?
What year did Audi change to the LED headlights?
The 2012 has the wicked looking headlights and running lights. What year did they change to the wicked looking headlights and running lights?

I just love the look of the headlights on the 2012 and am wondering what year this all started.

Any idea if Audi is thinking about putting a V8 in the A6?

 

The a4 comes in either 4 cylinder or v6
The a6 comes in either v6 or v8
The a8 comes in either v8 or then infamous w12

 

I was at the San Francisco auto show today. They don't have a V8 in the A6 for 2012, but are coming out with a twin turbo 4.0 liter (not a 4.2) for the S6. Should be out for 2013 per the Audi Rep. I was told the price point would be around 66k.
caveat: I don't know how accurate this info is.

Anybody else hear anything?

 

Part of the reason that there is no v8 for this model is that there is a supercharged v6, which is almost as powerful as the outgoing v8, but much more efficient. I think the 4.2 had around 330hp and the new 3.0 has 310hp. The S6 should have the twin turbo 4.0 instead of the 5.2 V10.

 

My dream car is a 2011 Audi A6 Avant with 3.0T. They discontinued the avant in US for 2012. Bummer...

 

Well, I put a deposit down on a new 2012 A6. I've been wanting an Audi for about 12 years. 2012 is finally it for me!!!!
