Default Is 3" aftermarket Exhaust ok?

I wanted to know if 3"pipes would be ok. I want to get it done at a exhaust shop along with a high flow catalytic converter and a high flow resonator.

3 inch exhaust will be ok, but going that big of pipe on stock k03's is gonna make the turbos spool a little bit later, but you will get more power at the top end. If you don't wanna sacrafice turbo spool go with 2.5 inch piping.

Would a high flow catalytic converter and a high flow resonator be a good idea with the 2.5" pipes?

I have A6 Quattro 2003. Every once a while it has this beeping noise and hand brake light flashes on the dashboard. Basically, it is telling me that my hand brake is up, but it is not. How can I stop the noise? I am sick of it, it never stops.

Thank you!

With factory K03's, I would stay with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch exhaust. You can upgrade to 3 inch if you went with a K04 turbo. Hi flo cat's can also generate CEL's, unless you have ECU software, like APR.

how much does a K04 turbo cost?

i remember reading somewhere on here that audi doesnt carry the stock 2.7 turbo anymore and when/if your turbo(s) go up, then they would just put the K04 in. is this true?

I actually think the K03 is still available, but K04's would run about $1000 each.

What are CEL's?

I’m just trying to paint a picture here. are you saying, unless you have a chip, you should just upgrade your mufflers and keep the pipes to about 2 ¼ to 2 1/2?

Well changing the pipe size set up any error codes?

After thinking about it, changing your cats and mufflers to hi flow would probably be OK since the O2 sensors are not involved. Modified downpipes (eliminating the precats) will definitely throw a CEL, but there are ways around that too!

You do not need to modify your ECU if you change your mufflers or cats. I would stick with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch pipe with your factory turbos, 3 inch would yield no benefits, it actually may be counter productive. If you change out your exhaust...meaning downpipes and cat back, it will throw a CEL. I am assuming you have a 2.7T.
