Are 4.2 and v6 model floor mats interchangeable?

Arrow Are 4.2 and v6 model floor mats interchangeable?

Like the title says, can I put floor mats from a v6 model in my 4.2? I know they are different part numbers but this may just relate to the different logos. I have been told there might be a difference in width but I have no way to verify before I order them. Thanks in advance for any input.

One could wonder: What prevents you to order the proper mats on first place?

I previously owned a 2.8 v6 manual, I can confirm that the mats are a different size in my 4.2. The drivers and front passengers foot space is considerably smaller due to the transmission tunnel. However I dont know if this is because my 2.8 was a manual and 4.2 is an auto.

The whole body size is different (by a couple inches in either direction). The attachment points for the mats are spread wider apart in the 4.2 than the 2.8, so it will not fit; unless you just want to throw it in.

I wonder if the steering wheels are different sizes?

I was going to buy them used for 1/4 of what audi sells them for.

Thanks for all the info though.
