i have a 1995 audi a6 it has always had proablems when i drove it it would lose power and the CEL light would come on i have no clue whats happining but when that happins it looses all power and it starts popping i feel like its either a fule proab or a ignition proab it did this every lil while when i was driving and to solve it i would only have to turn the car off and then on but now it does this all the time any one have any ideas what this could be

 

first thing to do is replace the fuel filter this problem I would put in a category of lack of power (fuel starvation) engine goes into limp mode causing the CEL light to come on, there are a few thing which can cause this problem but without a fault code it difficult to diagnose

 

i just got done with the fuel filter it didnt do anything to fix the car any other ideas?

 

What codes are stored in the ecm?
