Ok gang,

The rear speakers on my treasured 1996 A6 Quattro are shot; crackle with any bass; gotta put it all up front; I think it is just old age since the speakers are 20+ years old and the original owner was a 75 year old lady

The rest of my speakers are fine and can handle decent volumes w/o distorting.

For the life of me, after searching the Al Gore internet all afternoon, I cannot figure out what I have here or what portion(s) are replaceable. ALL ORIGINAL FOR SURE OBVIOUSLY - dated 11/96.

My best guess is that this Nokia thing is an OEM amp/booster and the speaker is mounted on top of it. But they have the classic "blown speaker" sound - probably because they were rarely used and got stiff/brittle.

Would appreciate any advice from the experts out there. Not sure if I can just drop in new speakers or if the whole assemblies needs to be replaced???

Willing to buy a set of these from anyone on the forum.
