I bought a A^ and the tiptronic does not work...It shifts fine but I cant use the toy setting (shifting up and down)...Any suggestions???

 

Have a dealer or independent connect your car to a diagnostic tool and check codes. When my '99 did the same thing, a check pointed to the transmission multi-function switch. I changed it and was back in business. Don't guess -- it could be a number of things.

 

I found out there is a magnet on the plastic under the chrome cove that falls out I pulled the shifter (no small feat) and found the magnet stuck to the floor pan..I glued it back in place and voila we got tiptronic back....

 

I'll have to remember that. Just imagine how many ways a complicated buggy like an Audi can break!
