'99 Avant purchase guidance
Hey, I'm very new to the Audi experience but have been doing ALOT of browsing these forums. I am contemplating the purchase of a 1999 Avant Quattro with 93k. I am looking to save some money through the sale of my current vehicle and the purchase of this one, both in gas mileage and price. I drive quite a bit, mostly highway, and am a bit put off by the mileage on this car.
But here's why it seems like a good deal: The maintenance done was as follows: Recently, at 88K miles, a brand new battery, ABS pump, flasher switch, and ecm temperature sensor were replaced. At 74K miles, 4 brand new 205/55R16 Bridgestone Turanza LS-H tires were mounted and balanced. At 69K miles, total brake job including front and rear rotors and pads, tie rods, c.v.boots, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, fuel filter, cabin filter, air filter. The oil has always been changed every 3-4 thousand miles.
Is there anything else I should be concerned about. Should I be asking why these repairs have been made? [IMG][/IMG]I have read that these 2.8 engines tend to seep, and have seen it for myself upon removal of a friend's belly pan. I would be purchasing sight-unseen and would appreciate any insight!
