The only thing I'd be concerned about is the mileage and what kind of shape it's in. I love my A6 eventhough I just found out it was in some sort of accident. [:@]. As long as you got deep pockets, I say get it. Getting an extended service contract will be kinda hard for vehicles over 100k.

Go for it![:@][>:][X(][&:]sucker! Really, I'm very happy with yet another German car! I have owned several, the Audi lives up to German quality, German ride, and durability.

It looks nice for a'96 and 135k miles. That 2.8 engine is bullet-proof, doesn't have the seal problems of the 30V motors.

I have the same engine in my '95 90(pre-A4), with over 273,000 km (over 166k miles) and it still runs strong, doesn't use oil, and gets 30mpg with a 5-spd.

Good luck, and enjoy.

I had exactly the same car, smae year... It rode smooth on nice 17's with no mods but the wheels. had various small issues, sold it with noly 60k miles on it to a yound kid. It was very slow but drove real nice, great car on long trips. These A6 were kown for having elec. problems... there was a recall on it... forgot the details...
but it all of this was taken care of by the prior pwner, you should be good to go. This one looks well taken care of. because it is an Audi and a mid-90's at that, I would only buy it if the owner/seller kept al the receipts/invoices or work/repair/maintenance done on the car. if it was not maintained well you could have surprises... expensive ones.
Get a Carfax and please DO a PPI, it is worth the $.

Go for it and enjoy the German quality. You won't regret. Better than crappy plastic toys like Toyota and Honda.

Have it inspected by someone who knows Audis. Also, white is the easiest color to paint. It could be hiding a lot of body damage. At least go over it with a rubber magnet and check for bondo.
