I'm new to this site and have a couple of questions. I've been told the 2.7t will blow away the 4.2L in a 1/4mile but other sites say the 4.2L is a rocket. There is a 50hp difference with same body weight and the specs say the 4.2L gets better highway mileage? Is there that much of a difference and do they take premium gas?

Why buy one over the other?

 

It all depends on what you like? If you like the feel of muscle, then go with the 4.2. Not much to mod on them so if your into that, then go with the other models. As for a 2.7 blowing away a 4.2, I would like to see that...

I have a 4.2 and I love it. It has plenty of power and rides great. Gas mileage isn't the best in the world though.

 

You don't have to worry about the turbo going out either. Do you get 25 on the highway?

 

I get about that on the highway.
