So I just picked one up a few days back, and after CAREFULL examination I realized the rear end may have been wrecked, carfax is clean, isn't it illegal to fix a wrecked car without documenting it? I mean DUH, I realize it happens more than often BUT for my specific car I think they just put a regular A6 rear end.
I DO NOT HAVE THE DUAL EXHAUST..
If I am right and I basically got tricked what can I do now?
It is a quattro I know that for a fact, I've have awd vehicles before and know how to test that.
But seriously, I have no dual exhaust, Infact, I don't even have an exuast pipe showing, the rear bumper isnt even molded for them.
Maybe I'm thinking too much but I haven't seen a quattro without this.

I can't comment on the dual exhaust, but the A6's didn't have exposed tailpipes until 2003 (or '04. I can't remember right now). The exhaust pipes are there, but they're covered by the bottom lip of the bumper, making for a very clean look in the rear. If you stick your head up under there, you'll see them!

All of the V6 Audi's have a dual exhaust coming off the headers and down at least part of the car. My A6 goes with two independant pipes all the way back; my fiancee's A4 has dual pipes all the way back to the final muffler, when it goes two-into-one.

 

oh great news, I didn't realize that, I was looking at stock photos, and I was looking at stock cars on car domain and saw that they all had it, I guess they are the "sportier" ones? lol.

 

The 1995 thru 1997 A6 2.8L 12 valve C4 chassis have a single muffler. The 1998 A6 wagon is the same. What year A6 do you have?

98-01 has dual exhaust but they are not exposed like the 02+ A6s

an exhaust shop can customize it... that's what I did so I have 2 oval exhaust tips now on my 99
