As for super/turbo kits, if you'd like to spend $10,000 here's a link to a supercharger kit you can buy. http://www.motodyne.com/frames/audi_...8_powered.html
My best advise would be either keep it n/a and do the appropriate mods, sell it and buy a 2.7t and mod to your hearts content, or find a new and innovative way to use an existing supercharger on your 4.2 (you'll probably end up spending more than 10k doing this anyway.)

APR and PES are "In Development" - Price should be aounr $6k for the kits
However no news has been released about either - though the physical units have been prototyped, if i recall correctly they just cant get the engine management tackled.

MTM has done this with their RS4 Clubsport seen here:
http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/mtm-supercharged-rs4/
and
Speedware Motorsports installed a MTM S/C ina Nogaru Blue S4 Avant here in the states which can beviewed here:

As for the Motodyne version, I have read some strange, possibly shady things about this company to the point I wouldn't take any chances by purchasing a kit from them.
VAST Performance has been working on a kit too. Many people are happy with Mike's work.
As for APR and PES - Reputable companies that seem to be excelling in aftermarket products. I would consider purchasing a kit from either company if they begin to produce a reliable, working kit.
Although this should work in all 4.2L I would only recommend this for the S4, RS4, and S6. You would get considerable gains from the S/C on an A6, but the prices for high mileage S4s are pretty low, and the 40hp more from the base engine is worth it IMHO. Then there is the S8. Anywhere between $13k and $30k right now and your base HP is at 360. Nice luxury saloon that would at that point be able to keep up with the AMGs I would think.
It seems their are enough cars and enough enthusiasts that these companies are finally coming around and creating an option for our seemingly untunable 4.2Ls.
Until then...DISPLACEMENT!

Why would a turbo'd v8 only make 300bhp? Do you know of any factory v8 turbo? Not to be mean or anything but do your research before you post so you don't sound like an idiot.

Retard Riot 686 was just asking a question, but it's thats funny because you didn't do yourresearch before you answer the question. There are a lot of factoryturbo V8, the Lotus Esprit and the RS 6 are a few.
