Just bought a 2000 A6 4.2 sight unseen ( very brave or very stupid? ). car has 125K with no service records. ad says it has an ultra sport pkg and am wondering what this entails? $7000.00 For sure have to do the timming belt right away. Beng

 

Very brave yes, very stupid not yet......not until you see what you really bought. For $7k with that mileage that is still a great deal. As long as it isnt in need of any major stuff I would say good buy. Be sure to post pics when you take delivery to it.

 

i wasn't even aware of an ultrasport package for the a6. i know there is the sport package, like mine, which comes with 17" 5 spoke wheels, stiffer suspension that rides a tad lower, sport seats, and that's all i remember off the top of my head. now the a4 had an ultrasport package up until the point when the S-line package came out, then there was no more ultrasport, so did the salesman accidentally mean the sport package?

 

Very brave purchase my friend. I don't think I could buy a car that I've never seen. No service records... You never know what your getting into.

 

I think an A6 becomes an Ultra Sport after you add a fart can exhaust, slammed suspension with 15 inch wheels, curb finders, a 4 foot high "ultra sport" wing, pep boys racing seats..........do you want me to keep going? You are brave indeed. I hope it is just the sport and not the ultra sport.
