Default a6 4.2L vs a6 2.7L Turbo

just wondering what kind of differences there are (besides the obvious) and some pros/cons to both and what you would rather drive.

The 4.2 is more reliable and has a better look with the fender flares. The 2.7 has more tuner options.

I suggest you do a search. This question has been asked and answered many, MANY times. You'll get more info from a search than you will from a new query on an old question.

Good luck.

No worries. Don't want to discourage you, but truly -- you'll see a LOT of discussion on this if you do a query. Keep an eye out for posts by Boston Driver on this -- he's owned both and can therefore speak from the perspective of not having a particular bias.

Good luck!

LOTS of miles. The problem with that is that you do not know how the previous owner treated the turbos. If they were treated well, it may not be a problem. Thing is, you just don't know. That's why I opted to go low miles (mine had 28k when I purchased it).

What's your budget? What's this one cost?

its 8,000 dollars flat thats about my budget to maayybbee 9000 if its a really good deal. I'm 19 years old so i dont have a ton of money but i want to drive a nice looking car. I was also looking at some bmw-3series but i think the audi's seem nicer in my price range.

The problem with barely being able to afford a high mileage 2.7T is the fact that you will not have any money left for maintenance costs that you may incur, and believe me the maintenance is not cheap...!

Craig Mack's point is SPOT on -- particularly if you're only 19 and have a limited income. Suggest you buy a car that is a few grand below your budget and bank the rest. If you don't spend it, great! You've started a savings account. If you need it, you don't have to sell the car at a big loss because it's broken and you can't afford to fix it.

Good luck.
