I have a A6 Avant 2.8l and it always seems to have a problem. I bring it into the shop and its back in the next month or two. Last month I needed a new transmission and for awile the back windows just stopped working at the same time. Could it be some wiring that doesnt work? But the thing is, I can operate them from the drivers seat but the back buttons dont work. Any ideas are welcome.

 

You probably need a new drivers switch. Sometimes the window lock button doesnt work right. You also might want to make sure that button just isnt in the wrong position for the windows to work with the rear switchs. The other possibiltiy is that both rear window switchs are bad but thats unlikely.

Yeah, had that exact same problem with my '00 Avant. The switch was about $36 if I recall. Had a shop put it in while they were doing some other work.
