Both Passat and Audi are VWs, so its about the same as comparing a Ford to a Mercury. I thought the Passat and the A4 had the same size chassis, but I may be wrong. Just avoid any car with major problems, such as water coming out of the tail pipe, transmission noise, torn CV boots, etc. If you find anything seriously wrong, then their price is too high. Too many broken parts points to defered maintenance and costly future repairs.
