I currently am the proud owner of a tuned '01 a4 1.8t. I'm looking to buy a used '00 or '01 A6. I'm not sure what mods are available for A6's, however. I'm not/never going to the sell my A4 for it so please don't factor that in.What's everyones take on it? Go for the V6 w/T or the V8?

for the v6 there is only the supercharger. i believe they make one for the v8 as well. the v8 makes some nice sound while the v6 is quiet.

 

^Wait which v6...minehas turbos lol...I was lookin at the v8, but decided on the v6 only because of the gas milage right now. I'm pretty sure they have a supercharger for the V8 but not sure who makes it.The v8 has wider fenders which is about all I can think of as a difference right now.

Yeah I am sure this topic has been beaten to death but basically the 2.7t is WAY funner simply because of the performance and unlimited aftermarket support. Also, the 2.7t will get better MPG, right now I am getting roughly 18-19 MPG. But at the same time the 4.2 is more sporty looking and those fenders are mean as hell not to mention the 4.2 has better factory wheels. Another determining factor would be the reliability issue because as everyone knows turbo motors are more likely to have problems. So basically 2.7t = better performance, MPG, and aftermarket support. 4.2 = sexier body, better wheels, and probably slightly better reliabilty.

Also, the 4.2 is an inch longer in the front to hold the v-8.

 

wow, after looking at some pics closer that v8 body looks so aggresive. love the wider fenders.

 

yeah, she's got a great look from the rear as well, particularly with some 18/255's to fill up the wells.

V8... i would trade mine for one.... gas mileage is a moot point since once you chip it you will be getting similar mpg (as was said by a previous poster)

BTW any V8 want to trade me for my 2.7T? my car is f&%king immaculate, stock and extremely well maintained... i expect yours to be the same. (talk to me privately)
