Default A6 c4 brake problem!

Hello everyone, ive searched theese forums for quite a while and i couldnt find an answer to my problem!

here goes; I have an 1994 audi A6, 2.8 quattro 128kw. And up untill now everything was more or less ok. a while back my rear brakes would not fully realese, meaning they were always braking just a little. i went to a "brake repair" shop and they fixed it, replaced the seals and bleeded the whole system. now this problem has returned so i went back - they checked the system and said everything was allright. and it was for a month or so. But last night i had to brake really hard on the highway (100 mph+) and my rear left brake is stuck on again! possibly both rear brakes. now i cant even drive the car back to the shop becouse teh disc will glow red again and the pads will catch fire AGAIN.

i need some help ASAP, i really dont know what else to do exept park it into a tree...this brake problem is just ****

thanks for any help!
regards, Ivan

Sometimes when calipers get older, they get sticky. Meaning the sliders, that push the pads onto the rotors don't slide freely. They can rust and when they slide out, rust or corrosion can prevent them from retracting, causing them to stick on.

Just a thought.

Ahh like that...i had them renewd when i first had this problem. all the seals were replaced and the cylnders are nice and shiney, with absolutly no rust whatsoever.

Have you tried a full fluid replacement?

How does your emergency brake operate? Does it use it's own separate pads or does it engage your rear brakes?

Maybe it is the handbrake not fully releasing. Check the cable.

This happend when i had to brake rapidly, nohing to do with the handbrake. but nevertheless i checked the cable, its loose, so its not holding...

this is a puzzle isnt it
