1998 A6 Quattro 30V, 175K

I have installed a new radiator and I need help locating the heater core so I can make sure all of the old fluid is removed before I put new G12+ into the system, I had G11 previously.

I am having trouble locating the heater core? I have been told in is located under the plum near the battery? Is this correct? Does any one have a picture of the location?

Yes, it's located inside the cowl under the windshield just to the driver's side of the battery. You will only be able to access the inlet and outlet pipes, and I think the one with the bleeder hole is the outlet one. If you have compressed air, give it a low pressure shot to get the old coolant out. Just be careful not to shower yourself!

 

Thanks, hopefully I can find it. I do have compressed air. I will try not to spray coolant all over.

 

I did find the heater core hoses next to the battery. I didn't find them before because there is a cloth covering over the 2 hoses. now I can drain the core and burp the system. Thanks!
