A6 C5 starting problem.
Okay i have a starting problem when i do the whole turn on key let sit for ten a few times it seems to help... it eventually will start but takes longer ive notice it does it more in the winter time which lead me to think it was a vacuum leak. Especially because where i live the air is really thin n the cold just makes things worst. But then today when going to fuel up i took the cap off while still started and it died out. Now u may as why i would leave it started... ive noticed when i turn it off and try to start it takes a few cranks before starting. What ive done so far to the vehicle: new battety, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, new fuel pimp relay and i have check car for leaks.... so im stuck in between wondering if this is a fuel issue somewhere other then where ive looked and replaced or a vac leak. I kinda ruled out crank sensor because this only happens in the winter and have though about replacing the coolant sensor when i change out the timing belt etc... any suggestion that can fix the issue please no my car has that problem too answers i just want to find the issue and fix it before it gets to the point where it wont start at all....
Back again did some diagnostic lead me to believe its the MAF sensor i first started the car and knocked on the sensor the car died out.... then i started it again and then started moving the maf wires around a bite died again last check was i turned the car on took off the wire from the sensor and yhe plugged it back in when i did this the car died once again... will post again after i put in a new one to let all know if that corrected the issue
BUMMER MAF replacement didnt stop the no start on first crank but diagnoses showed it was going bad on to the next look up my clicking in purge and I will keep you posted on if this fixed the no start on first crank...
