Default A6 mpg

Hello

I recently bought a A6 2.7TDi SE (not 4WD) multitronic with tiptronic function, 30,000 on clock for 06 plate, and running it over a full tank gives me around 33 to 33.5mpg, this is driving in normal DRIVE mode and no excessive speeding or accelaration, maybe 65% of time on A roads.

I know its all so variable but is my MPG a bit low?

regards

krishan

Thumbs up A6 mpg

HI. You should be celebrating getting over 33MPG and thankful you have a diesel. My A6 is a 2.7T gas (petrol) car with Quattro. The best mileage I've seen is 28MPG driving at 55MPH and that's with the A/C off. I usually get around 22 to 23 MPG cruising at 75 MPH on the interstate and have seen mileage as poor as 16 to 17 MPG in city traffic. I do love the Quattro feature when the weather is not at its best, but also hate that it affects my mileage in such a negative way with all of the added weight and mechanical/rolling resistance.

Yea dude you should be very happy with that millage. On my A6 2.7T I get around 14 - 16 MPH because my drive usually consists of stop and go stop signs + lights in a hilly neighborhood. You're getting over TWICE of what I get

Yea I'm getting about 20 city and roughly 25-30 hwy depending on how fast I'm going. Keep in mind your car is in the upper 3000lbs range so it's not going to get the same milage as a diesel Golf. How's the power behind the deisel. I wish we had them out here.

Yeah I hate those hills, but I notice my milage drop more when I'm in traffic.

Diesel vs Gas?

Which year is the TDI?

Also take into account that the US gallon is not necessarily the same as measurement as other countries Gallons
eg. 1 gallon US = 1.2 gallon UK
No idea where you're from though."A roads" usually means UK though.

Guys

I had no idea this was a US forum, sorry, yes a "A" road is a single lane one.
The car is 2 years old, the new model and yes there really is no point comparing gas with desiel.
