I got my A6 2.0L Auto (2002)few months ago.The mileage was 68,000 miles. After few weeks the car started suffering from over heating. I replaced the temperature sensor, then the thermostat, then the water pump, then the mechanic told me that the head gasget is the problem. The head gasget was replaced. I noticed in the past few weeks that the engine is loosing oil, the engine dosent smook and there is no trace of oil leak and the engine is very dry. The oil warning light came on two times in the last month, in the two incidents the engine needed 0.5L to top up. Last month I have done only 400miles. Can anybody advice?

 

coolant being the most important issue here, the job done will be covered by parts and labour, is the oil and coolant mixed and the oil which looks like coffee as some one said

Thanks for your response. The water looks clean, the oil is brownish and there is no deposits on the underside of the oil cap.
