Default A6 Radio Help

Hey guys,

I just bought a 1996 Audi A6 and having some issues with the radio. I need to enter the radio code, which I have, but the radio doesn't display the word SAFE when I turn it on. It doesn't show anything actually. I'm not sure why its not working, and would appreciate if you guys had any idea what the problem may be.

The next step I would try is removing the radio, you will need the keys to remove the radio or go to bestbuy and see if they will just pop out the radio; And then verify that cables are securely attached.

The radio display may be backlit by a bulb which has burnt out. So you will have to remove the radio to find out it it has a burnt out bulb behind the display.
You could shine a flashlight at the display.

Ya gotta love it!

One thread and two conversations!
It started with a C4 1996 and continued with a C5 2000
There are common things but different vehicles have different fixes.
