Default A6 rear brakes stuck

I just replaced the rear pads and rotors. A buddy of mine helped me bleed the brakes. when I went to take it for a test run it seemed as if my ebrake was on. I the pulled my ebrake to see. It was hard as. Is there something I did wrong?

The old pads were worn down and the rotors need to be replaced. I screwed the piston which was a pain til they stopped. The pad and rotors went on smooth. Please help. So I can make it to work. lol

Well, I am not sure why you bled the brake line, that was not in the manual for pads/rotors. One step in the manual was after the break pads and rotors were replaced and installed, BEFORE turning on the car was to depress the brake pedal all the way to the floor a few times. This is supposed to reseat the piston, or something.

I had to inorder to push the piston all the way back in. You would think if I had the manual I would have known that. Does anyone have an ideas of what can do inorder to correct this problem. Thanks for your help inadvance

I had this issue with a Oldsmobile once after removing the brakes several times I came to the conclusion the new rotors were oversized and and the pads were slightly to thick, I dont know if this is your problem or you have a problem with your calipers I ended up taking the car on several short drives around the block after i confirmed that my calipers were working correctly, after the first couple of rounds around the block the wheels were even getting hot I let them cool and took a few more trips about the 5th time everything worked fine drove another 30,000 on those pads. I dont know if this will help but I have had this issue before.

Make sure the slides are not frozen i.e. the calipers are floating then make sure the ebrake cable and mechanism is free.

I suspect wrong rotor size. Check the old with new in depth, not diameter.

Don't you need to use the computer software vag-com to do the rear brakes?
