Default a6 TDI 3.0 (240HP version) MPG

I am looking to buy a car and one of the important aspects of it is MPG because I am probably going to put 300,000 or so miles on the car. I am thinking about getting the lexus gs 350 I have had 2 previous ones and have that now and very leary of the reliabity of the audi for the electronics but I do like the interior. Does the Disel one get a lot more MPG then the regular 3.0 non disel. I know cars rate this and that but don't actually get what they say. This is going to be more used in the city then on the freeway but there is no stop and go driving.

From your post it seems that English may be your second language. Are you asking about the diesel version shipped to the US, or another country? The 3.0 that you mention in your post, is that the naturally aspirated 3.0 or the super charged version? Are you looking for information on 2015 models or an earlier year?

I must have been tired when I wrote that then. I am in the US. I think the 2014 disel has a 3.0 but I might be wrong. I was trying to figure out what is the actual gas MPG that it gets if someone has one, not what does the dealer say the car will get.

I had a 2014 TDI as a loaner for 7 weeks and approximately 2,500 miles. At the end of the 7 weeks I averaged 29.5 MPG in NYC metro area combined driving. I was so happy with the TDI that I ordered a 2015 TDI, which is scheduled to be delivered August 11th. If you want feedback from owners with more experience with the TDI you should go over to the AW or AZ forums.

I have read that 35-38 mpg is easily achievable.

I just got my TDI so I can't really comment on mpg at this time.

I just drove mine home today. It's such a nice car and from what iv'e read dsl_pwr is right. The car is very capable of the upper 30's on the highway and reasonable at 22-24 in the city. I will be able to confirm more on that once I get some miles on her. The torque provided by far is amazing. I haven't been on these forums is such a long time it's nice to be back!
